Why is Prav Yav Nav – History Mythology Fiction in Context

Welcome to Prav Yav Nav blog. I started my YouTube channel Prav Yav Nav in 2019 to tell interesting facets of History, Mythology and Fiction. Something that is not explored enough or some lesser-known history.

My academic and career background has been in Mass Media, Filmmaking and Historical Research. I always wanted to tell stories, ideas and information based on research. I am not the kind of creators who would tell you false history to massage your ego and biases and gain viewers.

In a world of social media which is full of misinformation at its worst and ideological biases at its best, I plan of telling the truth which lies somewhere in the middle. But so far, I have seen only certain popular topics getting more traction than lesser-known interesting stories.

Journey So Far

After making over hundred videos on this channel right from animated explainers to maps, food recipes and even travel vlogs, I have got some sense of what you guys really want to watch. So, henceforth I am planning to make more of which that you would like to see. But at the same time, I will also make some videos on something I think are important, even if it may not get traction.

YouTube and social media in general are full of information, so much so that there has been an information overload and many of them doesn’t make any difference to our lives. So, I have decided to try and tell history with a context – how is this information relevant to our lives? Of course, certain topics are for those curious minds who just want to know new things.

Democratizing History

History is studied and discussed mostly among close circles of academics and scholars, and most of it are just data which the layperson cannot understand. So, storytellers fill this gap by telling historical stories to the masses. But these stories are not always true history. True history is complex with layers, I plan to simplify them for you, but not oversimplify them as that would lose the nuances, and may become a right vs left binary. Internet is full of half-truths which gives rise to disinformation. Understanding true and contextual history would help you understand current affairs better, would help to under a culture better, and even help understand fiction. In an ocean of unending content, I plan to keep mine limited so that it would be easy to catch up. Something what scaling up spoils it.

Other Channels

I also have other channels, Prav Yav Nav Original Stories where I plan to tell visual stories like animated skits, original fiction, and tales from legend and literature. Being an aspiring screenwriter and fiction writer, I am planning to use my other channel as an outlet for my creative urges. So, please check those out and subscribe for its upcoming content. Another way of my creative outlet is writing novels – the first one is already out, set in an alternate world. Another channel of mine, a personal one – will be used for vlogs or recipe videos, with historical context of course.

Need Your Support

This channel’s growth is still very slow, and because making such content takes lot of time and efforts, for research, writing, recording, editing – it cannot be a viable option for me if I don’t see a sustainable growth. So, after certain videos on my content bucket, if I feel the channel is not going anywhere, I will stop making new videos by end of 2026, as I won’t have the mental bandwidth to continue making new ones. So, if you like what I make, please support the channel by not only subscribing but also watching everything you find interesting here, and also sharing with your friends and like-minded people. Because your one-time causal views aren’t helping the channel with the algorithm.
